Vlondakis G., V. Assimakopoulos, P. Capros and J.-E. Samouilidis (1986) "Analysis of the residential energy behaviour with multivariate statistical techniques"
Paper presented at the VIII Congress of the European Society of Operations Research, EURO, 16-19 Sept., Lisbon, Portugal.
This paper presents the design and the execution of a statistical analysis of residential energy consumption data obtained by a special survey carried out for Cyclades-Greece. The data available concern the consumption by end-use service of energy, by final energy form and by energy appliance. The data is organised in homogenous groups concerning energy behaviour. Principal components analysis, descriminant analysis and canonical analysis are applied successively. Results obtained are extremely useful for the characterization of the structure of the residential energy consumption. They are also used for the design of an analytical residential energy demand model. The methodology followed in this study is presented in general terms in order to be applicable to other cases where energy data from a survey are available.
