Economic Effects of a European -30% target, Assessing the growth and job effects of moving the European climate target from -20% to -30%, study for the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
The purpose of the study is the preparation of a political strategy, that balances questions of the environment, the economy and society and which:
- makes concrete recommendations, how the necessary transition to a low-carbon economy in Europe with a goal of a 30% reduction can be structured;
- contains criteria that include CO2 emissions, positive employment effects, economic growth, energy costs and fairness;
- evaluates the recommended measures in light of uncertain developments in the future;
- recommends financing plans for reduction measures.
