Service contract for the development of a Europe wide transport model, technology watch data and scenarios, for the European Commission, DG Research & Innovation
The main objective of the project is to provide the European Commission with a usable and reliable transport network model with which detailed analyses of transport infrastructures of European importance and of genuine transport policies are enabled.
Since in recent years transport has become a building block within major European policy strategies, e.g. climate policy, security of energy supply, European transport policy has been extended to contribute also to these strategies. Therefore the transport model to be developed will be connected with models enabling integrated policy analyses for these fields, in particular an economy model and an energy-environment model. We call this new integrated model TRIMODE (TRansport Integrated MODel of Europe).
