Prof. P. Capros, (2014), "GEM-E3-R&D: A Computable General Equilibrium Model with endogenous technology progress driven by R&D"
Presented at the Workshop on "Research and Innovation in Applied Models of Growth for Policy-Making" organised by the European Commission, Directors-General for Economic and Financial Affairs and Research & Innovation, October 14, Brussels.
The workshop aimed to start a discussion on the role of R&D in macroeconomic models of growth, by incorporating the views of macroeconomic modellers and policy makers. Several macroeconomic models used at EU and Member States level were presented focusing on the (possible) treatment of R&D in it, the limitations linked to this, the data used, the simulation of public policies (e.g. R&D tax credits) and possible model developments. The GEM-E3 model characteristics and its practical applications were presented in the workshop.
