EDEN: Establishment of a European Energy Data Exchange Network, for European Commission, DG Research

This project focuses on the following objectives:

  • to support energy systems analysts with data and scenario assumptions from different models
  • to harmonise data and scenario assumptions from the major European energy modelling databases
  • to provide best available data on new and renewable energy technologies
  • to establish an internet based platform which allows to disseminate information and research results related to energy models on a broad basis beyond the small group of scientists involved in energy modelling. The platform should be commercially self-sustaining in the long term to enhance the communication and discussion on scenario assumptions and modelling results between scientists, policy advisors, decision makers, the interested public and other stakeholders
