Scenario analyses with the PRIMES model to support the Belgian authorities in the context of the EU burden sharing for the year 2020, study for Belgian Federal Planning Bureau
The study aims at elaborating energy and GHG emission reduction scenarios for Belgium in a European perspective, with the PRIMES model. The starting point of the study has been constituted by the baseline scenario elaborated for DG TREN (July 2007). However, the assumptions as regards the development of the iron and steel industry in Belgium will be adapted in order to be in line with more up to date sectoral information. On the other hand, there will be no change in the assumed development of global and other sectoral economic activities, energy prices, technological changes, nuclear phase out etc.
