Paper presented during the Workshop "Economic modelling of environmental policy and endogenous technological change”, Amsterdam, November 16-17.

This paper provides an overview of the research work carried out within the TEEM research project regarding technology progress and the endogenous representation in energy modelling. It also provides an overview of the model applications that aimed at improving policyoriented understanding of climate change mitigation when endogenous technology progress is considered. Finally, the paper draws general conclusions for energy and environment policy, energy technology and energy modelling techniques.
