Service Contract on energy and climate system modelling, for European Commission, DG Environment
The objective of the project is to make available to the Commission DG ENV the full-scale models PRIMES (energy system EU-34 countries), GAINS (air pollution, non CO2 GHG all countries), GEM-E3 (macroeconomic general equilibrium, all countries and the World economy) and Prometheus (long term world energy system and endogenous price formation of world energy markets) in order to assess proposals resulting from the energy-climate package in the medium term (2020) and the long term (2030 with PRIMES and GAINS, 2050 with new PRIMES and Prometheus) including closed-loop analysis of energy, environmental and economic implications and system-wide interactions.
