Macro-economic analysis for CO2 reduction policies, for the European Commission, DG XII

This activity was carried out by using several versions of the GEM-E3 general equilibrium model for the whole EU. The studies included the evaluation of the possibility of a double dividend by imposing a carbon tax compensating by a reduction of social security contributions of employers for European Union, the implications of policies that support investment as a policy accompanying CO2 reduction, the assessment of performances of systems of tradable pollution permits in Europe and the evaluation of the macro-economic cost of reaching the pre-Kyoto CO2 reduction target of the European Council.
