Modelling of Energy- Environment-Economy Interactions, study for the Greek General Secretary of Research

The objective of the project is the comparative evaluation of key technologies for energy, that will induce improvements in energy efficiency for Romania while being environment-friendly (especially concerning CO2 emissions and acid rain).

The economic cost of harmonising regulations and conforming with the norms set within the European Union will also be measured, while the economic implications of fiscal measures and instruments energy and environment oriented will also be evaluated. The results obtained for Romania will be compared with the ones obtained for Greece as well as for the other EU member states. It should be stressed that the work will build upon existing models and databases and will be centred on scenario characterisation.
